Lea Hough’s Chartered Surveyors have extensive experience within the education sector and are able to help schools in producing a Valuation Report of the assets being transferred during the process of joining an academy.
Schools are often complex sites, often comprising several structures and outbuildings and extensive grounds. As such, it’s important to seek specialist advice in relation to obtaining a valuation.
Each school is unique in its composition and in order to reach a valuation, our specialist Chartered Surveyors will visit the school and conduct a site inspection of the land and buildings. Our investigations usually take around a day on site, and involve a detailed inspection of the buildings on site and the property’s grounds. We will take a record of the site layout and location, building floor areas, building types, age, life expectancy and condition. We will also take into account planning status, land values, building types, replacement costs and tenure details. The complex information is then processed and using the DRC method of valuation the report is prepared to a high standard as these are often subject to audit of the academies.
