Lea Hough’s School Building Consultants are able to offer academies a FREE audit of previous CIF bids that have previously been unsuccessful and have failed to obtain CIF funding.
Our education team have an excellent track record of helping schools in Lancashire, Cumbria and Greater Manchester to achieve funding via the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). Through the experience gained from many years of working in this sector, we are able to help academy schools that may have had CIF bids rejected to identify areas for improvement and also provide advice on how to move forward in future applications.
Where there is an opportunity identified to apply for future funding rounds, Lea Hough are then able to act on behalf of the school to complete and submit the new application, via the CIF Portal.
Our process in preparing and completing CIF applications and providing supporting evidence is extremely thorough, giving schools an excellent chance of having their funding bids approved. Initially, we would visit the academy and conduct a full inspection of the school buildings, looking at the areas that require maintenance or upgrades and identifying funding opportunities.
It may be that we recommend re-working a previous application to improve it, review previous feedback and provide more evidence to support the application than was previously supplied. Due to the criteria for CIF funding being relatively strict, it may be that the type of project that was proposed in the failed bid wasn’t suitable for CIF funding. In such cases, we will look for other projects that would be better suited and therefore have a higher chance of success.
Academies and sixth form colleges can submit two bids for CIF funding each year and where there are suitable projects, we are able to move forward with two applications.
Lea Hough’s CIF audit and application service comes with no up-front fees for the school. Instead, when it comes to projects being approved and needing to be completed, Lea Hough will act as the project management team, overseeing the works within the required timescales and budget. Our cost for project management will be built into the application and therefore be fully funded in approved bids.
