Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors was appointed by L’Arche UK to undertake a programme of Stock Condition Survey Reports across its portfolio of owner-occupied residential properties throughout the UK. The organisation is part of an international charity supporting people with learning disabilities.
The project saw our Chartered Building Surveyors carry out detailed surveys across multiple properties in a number of regions, including Preston, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Inverness and the Brecon Beacons.
The purpose of the surveys was to provide a clear assessment of the condition of each property and help the client plan future maintenance works. The reports identified existing defects, highlighted areas requiring attention and provided the information needed to support long-term maintenance, budgeting and asset management.
The commission was led by Gareth Clarke, who worked closely with the client to agree a bespoke survey brief tailored to the organisation’s specific requirements. Each property was inspected in detail, with findings presented in a consistent reporting format designed to make it easy for the client to review and compare properties across the portfolio.
Following the success of the initial commission, the client has instructed us to undertake further surveys across its London portfolio.
By appointing a single firm of Chartered Surveyors, L’Arche UK benefited from a uniform approach to inspections and reporting, allowing informed decisions to be made across its property portfolio with confidence.
This project demonstrates Lea Hough’s experience in delivering large-scale property survey programmes for organisations operating multiple residential properties. Our Surveyors understand the unique challenges involved in managing care and supported living accommodation and provide practical, reliable advice to help clients protect their property assets and plan for the future.
