Birchwood Community High School SEMH Provision

Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors is delighted to have successfully completed the new Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Provision and Refurbishment Works at Birchwood Community High School in Warrington.

The project has now been fully handed over following a phased completion programme, providing the school with an exceptional new facility that will support pupils with additional needs for many years to come.

Delivered on time, on budget and to an excellent standard, the completed development has exceeded expectations, with the school expressing its delight at the finished accommodation.

Lea Hough has been involved with the project from its earliest stages, working closely with Birchwood Community High School to develop the proposal and secure the funding required to make the scheme a reality.

From the initial feasibility work through to project delivery, our Building Surveying and School Building Consultancy teams provided professional advice and guidance throughout every phase of the development.

Our role included supporting the school during the funding process, developing the project, managing procurement and overseeing delivery through to completion.

SEMH provision

The completed SEMH provision represents a significant investment in inclusive education within Warrington.

Designed to provide a calm, welcoming and purpose-built learning environment, the new facilities will enable the school to deliver enhanced support for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs while remaining fully integrated within the wider school community.

The school is extremely proud of the provision that has been created, which is recognised as an unrivalled facility for children within the Warrington Borough.

By creating dedicated spaces specifically designed to meet the needs of pupils requiring additional support, the project will help improve educational outcomes and provide an environment where young people can thrive.

The Project Team

The project was delivered by Rosslee Construction, working collaboratively with Lea Hough and the school throughout the construction programme.

A phased handover allowed the school to begin occupying completed areas while remaining operational, helping to minimise disruption and ensuring a smooth transition into the new accommodation.

Thanks to careful planning, proactive project management and close communication between all parties, the works were completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
