Role involves:
Thomas leads Lea Hough’s Commercial Valuation Team and is responsible for delivering a broad range of valuation and advisory services across the Commercial, Residential and Land sectors.
His day-to-day work is principally focused on commercial property valuation, alongside residential surveying and valuation, and land and development valuation. He undertakes instructions for a wide range of clients, including lenders, professional advisers, property owners, investors and private individuals.
Thomas provides valuation advice for secured lending, acquisitions and disposals, probate, financial reporting, pension and SIPP purposes, as well as other advisory requirements. He also undertakes Single Joint Expert Valuations, particularly in relation to matrimonial and other dispute-related matters, acting independently where required.
As head of the Commercial Valuation Team, Thomas is responsible for managing and developing the department, maintaining high professional standards and supporting the continued growth of the firm’s valuation services.

Thomas has developed extensive experience across a broad range of commercial, residential and land sectors. His workload is primarily focused on commercial property valuation, where he provides advice for secure lending, investment, acquisition and disposal, financial reporting and pension fund purposes.
He has substantial experience valuing retail, office, industrial, mixed-use and investment properties, as well as development land and residential property. He also undertakes valuations of specialist property types, including schools and educational premises where appropriate.
In addition to commercial work, Thomas carries out residential surveying and valuation instructions, including RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Surveys, inheritance tax valuations and Single Joint Expert appointments. He is experienced in acting for a diverse range of clients, including banks and lenders, solicitors, accountants, local authorities, housing associations, developers, landlords, tenants, pension providers and private clients.
Career overview:
Thomas joined Lea Hough in 2016 after graduating from the University of Salford with a First-class Honours degree in Building Surveying.
He became a RICS Registered Valuer and Associate member of the RICS in 2017 before completing Lea Hough and Co’s Structured Training Programme and successfully passing the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence in 2020, becoming a Chartered Valuation Surveyor.
Since qualifying, Thomas has progressed within the firm to become Senior Chartered Valuation Surveyor and subsequently Associate Partner. He now leads Lea Hough’s Commercial Valuation Team and has established a broad valuation practice across the Commercial, Residential and Land sectors.
When not in work:
Outside of work, Thomas is a keen Blackburn Rovers supporter and an enthusiastic Formula 1 fan.
Much of his free time is spent with his young family, enjoying days out, holidays and travelling together. He also enjoys cooking and socialising with friends and family and whenever possible, can be found watching football or following the latest Formula 1 Grand Prix.
