Pendle Court Day Nursery

Lea Hough has been undertaking property consultancy services on a new, purpose-built children’s nursery – located at the Pendle Court development in Nelson.

This flagship project is set to become one of the biggest and best nursery and pre-school facilities in the area once it opens.

Acting as Employer’s Agent, Lea Hough’s main role in the build of Pendle Court Day Nursery has been to oversee the contract between Developer and the appointed Contractor.

Prior to commencement on site, we prepared all building contract documentation. Whilst works have been underway, we have been overseeing the standard of works, holding regular progress meetings and certifying payments to the contractor.

We have also been working closely working with the buyer, Lomeshaye Village Day Nursery, in relation to the bespoke fit out of the facility – including kitchens, toilets, play surfaces etc which as required for a nursery, have to meet a specific set of health and safety based requirements.

Additionally, we have also liaised with the buyer’s lender and their appointed monitoring surveyors.

The project has been coming along nicely and the building is now entirely watertight. The internal fit out has begun, with a first fix of electrics, lighting, underfloor heating now underway.

With all brand new facilities, with a variety of rooms for different aged children and several outdoor play areas, alongside a ‘forestry area’ and sensory room. Importantly, the nursey will have plenty of car parking and a drop-off/pick-up area.

The new nursery is set to open in April 2019 and will be capable of accommodating 190 children.
