Various pitched roofs at the school were in very poor condition and were suffering from extensive ongoing leaks. The roof tiles were also obsolete and brittle and there were problems with rooflights, etc. Renewal of the pitched roofing was completed, adding 30+ years to the lifespan of the building components. The works addressed all of the outstanding issues, keeping the academy buildings safe, and new thermal insulation was added to improve energy efficiency.
All works were funded via the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) with Lea Hough having prepared the CIF funding application (on a no-charge basis) on the academy’s behalf, prepared all specifications, designs, drawings, tendered the works to achieve competitive tender prices and carried out full project-management through to overall completion.
