Project Overview:
This former LCC County School converted to Academy status in 2012. It has appointed a Business Manager and is adopting a much more commercially aware approach.
Lea Hough were appointed by the Academy to carry out full surveys and prepare a development plan for the site, identifying opportunities for refurbishment of dated blocks, expansion and maintenance.
Lea Hough prepared a detailed funding bid through the ACMF initiative to the EFA and funding approval was received, following which the whole of the existing sports block facilities underwent complete refurbishment between July and December 2014.
This included complete re-roofing to Building Regulations standards, wholesale renewal of windows and doors, insulating walls, general repairs & upgrades to the external fabric; along with full internal refurbishment throughout to two sports halls, entire refurbishment of all male and female changing blocks, and all ancillary store rooms, corridors etc. The scope of works also included full electrical re-wire, new lighting, and new heating systems throughout.
Lea Hough Role:
Lea Hough were responsible for undertaking all surveys, identifying potential works, preparing funding applications, existing and proposed drawings, detailed design, detailed specification, tendering, full contract administration throughout, and the role of CDM Coordinator.
Project Outcome:
Works were completed in accordance with the agreed programme, and on budget.
