Project Overview:
Bishopton is a former Royal Ordnance factory, owned by BAE Systems, to the west of Glasgow.

A comprehensive remediation and earthworks programme was required, whilst planning has been obtained for a mixed use development of 2500 houses and 100 acres of employment space, alongside extensive leisure facilities and community infrastructure.


Lea Hough Role:
Our involvement, from the commencement of the project, was to provide in-house development and valuation advice in relation to the proposed works and the preparation of the site for use.

Lea Hough led negotiations with third party landowners and the Council to facilitate delivery of the site, whilst subsequently acting as lead agent for the disposal of serviced and remediated parcels.


Project Outcome:
The project continues to go from strength to strength, with land for more than 1000 houses now contracted for sale.

Remediation and infrastructure works continue, whilst work for a new motorway junction to the M8 has recently been commenced.

The creation of a new, attractive development that generates value for the landowner remains an on-going and exciting opportunity for Lea, Hough & Co.
