We are currently overseeing the refurbishment and upgrading of Charnley House, off Winckley Square, in Preston. This is a vacant property that is being brought back to life on behalf of Farleys Solicitors who are opening a new office base in the city.
Works will entail full refurbishment of the two main floors to create new reception, conference rooms, and staff office spaces, as well as refurbishment of kitchen and toilets.
Some alterations to the layout will be undertaken, for which we have secured Listed Building Consent, having met the Conservation Officer from Preston City Council at the property to discuss the proposals.
The works will also involve major upgrades to services, in particular electric, data cabling and lighting, to suit a modern office environment, whilst retaining the original character of the Listed building.
Lea Hough are undertaking the role of Principal Designer under the CDM Regulations, as well as Contract Administrator to administer the contract. The work needs to be completed to a strict deadline to enable the office to be opened by a specific date and to achieve this the works will be completed and handed over in a phased manner.
We look forward to seeing yet another important Listed building being brought back to life!
