Congratulations are in store for Mat Wright MRICS who has just qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor!
Mat has followed Lea Hough’s Structured Training Plan and has passed his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) at the first attempt.
Mat joined Lea Hough in June 2018, to undertake a year-out work placement position, having already undertaken the first two years of his degree course at the University of Salford. After initially completing his placement year, Mat embarked upon the final year of his degree course, but whilst doing so he continued to work for Lea Hough on a part time basis, two days per week. After graduating with a first-class BSc. (Hons) in Building Surveying in summer 2020, Mat then continued as a full-time Graduate member of our team.
Since then, Mat has continued to gain terrific, varied experience and guidance from experienced Chartered Surveyor colleagues, culminating in him at passing his APC at the first attempt in January 2022!
So, just a few weeks after his 24th birthday, Mat is now one of the youngest Chartered Surveyors in the country!
The firm now boasts twelve MRICS Chartered Surveyors, with several of these having completed their APC whilst at Lea Hough. We also have six RICS Registered Valuers.
Paul Dignan, partner at Lea Hough said: “Achieving the Chartered Surveyor status and gaining the MRICS letters is a great accolade and is testament to Mat’s hard work and his dedicated approach.
“Everyone in the team is delighted for Mat, who has shown so much determination and has worked so hard to become Chartered so quickly.
“It is hugely pleasing to see surveyors who have joined the firm at a young age, quickly gain great experience and training, and then pass their APC to become qualified.
“We realised several years ago that, as recruitment of qualified surveyors is so difficult, the best way forward was to “grow our own”, so we have persevered with our Structured Training Programme and this has resulted in the firm now having more qualified Chartered Surveyors than ever before.”
Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors has an enviable track record in terms of the number of surveyors who have joined as graduates, and then developed quickly into qualified Chartered Surveyors. If you feel that you could be the next Chartered Surveyor to come through Lea Hough’s ranks, please feel free to contact us. We are always looking for surveying graduates and year-out placement students who are enthusiastic to become Chartered Surveyors!
