Work has commenced at a new residential property development in which Lea Hough played a key role in the sale of the land to developers. The development at Farington Moss in Leyland, South Ribble, is being undertaken by Kier Homes North in a joint venture with Homes England and Cross Keys Homes.
The £37m development of 174 two, three, and four-bedroom homes secured planning permission in July 2019, with construction expected to commence before the end of the year.
Lea Hough’s role in the scheme was firstly identifying the potential for development to be undertaken on the site. Our team were instrumental in bringing together a consortium of 6 land owners to form a viable opportunity before seeing this through to the final sale of the land.
In the early stages we worked with and on behalf of Homes England, who owned the adjacent land to prepare a masterplan for the wider area. Our role also involved obtaining reports from a variety of specialists on matters including traffic and transport, drainage and a variety of environmental and ecological issues. These then formed the basis of a successful planning application. The site had a number of technical challenges which Lea Hough worked to resolve before negotiating the sale of the site to Kier Homes.
The Farrington Moss scheme is part of a wider 350-home development on the site, due to be completed in 2024.
The scheme is one of several recent new build residential developments that Lea Hough have been involved in bringing to fruition. Our services in the area of planning and land development include identifying potential sites, providing site appraisals and viability studies, and representing landowners to obtain the best deal during a sale.
