Lea Hough has appointed a new Chartered Building Surveyor to their team, boosting its size and adding further knowledge and expertise. Paul Drake joins the firm’s Building Surveying team and brings with him over 30 years of experience in the profession.
Joining Lea Hough from his previous role as in-house Building Surveyor/Estates Manager at Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Paul has particular knowledge and expertise in repair and refurbishment projects to older buildings, including buildings that are of traditional construction, such as stone-built property, rural buildings and Listed Buildings. Paul has also had considerable involvement with the installation of renewable energy projects such as biomass boilers and PV solar panels.
The news of the appointment comes on the back of a bumper year for the firm’s Building Surveying team. Since summer 2020, building surveying work in the education, rural and commercial sectors has seen the team has working to capacity to manage instructions. The appointment of a further experienced Chartered Building Surveyor sees the team grow to its largest size, allowing the firm to assist more clients in the region.
Paul will work with both rural and commercial clients across several services, including planned maintenance surveys, specifications, project-management of construction projects, as well as survey inspections, defect analysis and condition survey reports.
Having amalgamated Lancaster based Matthew Parkinson Surveyors into the practice in 2019, the firm now also covers its widest geographical area, often undertaking commercial work in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales in addition to the large volume of work conducted in Lancashire.
Paul Dignan, Partner commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome Paul to our team; his experience and expertise will bring an extra dynamic to the service we can offer clients. “Being able to attract talent like Paul is a real testament to the firm’s reputation, which is borne out of how hard the team work to consistently deliver high standards of service to clients.”
