Name: James Roberts
Position at Lea
Hough: Valuation Surveyor
I’m originally from:
Chester
I live in: Chorley
I chose to live there
because: When I was looking to purchase my first property, I considered Chorley
the ideal place to live. At the time, I was working in Altrincham and my wife in
Lancaster. Chorley was located between the two locations and provided excellent
transport links to both.
How long have you
lived there: I have lived in Chorley since January 2014.
I like living there
because: Convenience. Chorley is
situated in close proximity to the M6, M61 and M65 motorways, providing easy
access across Lancashire and the North West. Local train stations in Chorley
Town Centre, Buckshaw Village and Euxton also provide direct services into both
Manchester and Liverpool. Chorley has beautiful countryside in areas such as
Rivington and White Coppice, as well as local parks like Astley and Yarrow
Valley Country Park. It also has a nice mixture of independent shops, bars and
restaurants and a cinema that has recently opened. Renowned for having a great community
spirit, Chorley also hosts various annual events including Chorley Live and
Picnic in the Park.
My favourite things
to do locally: Making the most of
the eclectic mix of bars and restaurants on offer as well as going for local
walks in the surrounding countryside and country parks.
The best hidden gem
in my local area: Anglezarke Reservoir. A scenic location with excellent
walks.
Three reasons I would
recommend my area to people:
- Convenient location with excellent motorway and
rail links.
- The great community spirit
- Beautiful countryside and local parks.
Favourite building in
Lancashire: Clitheroe Castle. Located in the centre of Clitheroe, this 800
year old landmark provides picturesque views across the Ribble Valley.
