A Busy Summer Ahead as Schools Begin Their CIF 2026-7 Projects

With the end of the academic year fast approaching, our School Building Consultants are preparing for one of the busiest periods of the year.

The summer holidays provide a vital window for schools to carry out major building improvement works with minimal disruption to pupils and staff. Following another successful round of Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) allocations, Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors will once again be working with schools across the North West to deliver a wide range of essential projects over the summer period.

Project Management of Successful CIF Bids

Our team will be supporting schools throughout Lancashire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Warrington and Bolton over summer by providing professional project management and contract administration services to oversee the delivery of projects that received CIF funding. Our team ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule; ready for school communities to return in September.

Projects taking place this summer include:

  • Roof replacements and refurbishments
  • Boiler and heating system upgrades
  • Upgrade of underground drainage systems
  • Gas and ventilation compliance
  • Electrical infrastructure projects
  • Window replacements
  • Building fabric repairs
  • Safeguarding and security improvements

Many of these projects are critical to maintaining safe, compliant and well-maintained learning environments for both pupils and staff.

Throughout the construction phase, our surveyors oversee progress, monitor quality, manage budgets and liaise closely with school leaders and contractors to keep projects on track.

Looking Ahead

Our experience of delivering education projects means we understand the unique challenges of working within school environments and the importance of completing works safely and on time.

We’re looking forward to another busy and rewarding summer, helping schools make the most of their CIF investment and delivering projects that will benefit pupils, staff and local communities for many years to come.

While our project teams will be focused on delivering this year’s schemes, we’ll also be working with schools to identify future priorities and begin planning for the next round of CIF funding.
