Chartered Surveying Services – The Lake District

Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors was established over 35 years ago to provide professional property advice to clients in Lancashire and the surrounding areas.

Due to our location, and now with offices in Lancaster, Preston and Blackburn, we are ideally placed to service commercial clients, property purchasers, private land owners, organisations and schools throughout the Lake District.

We already work with many clients in the Lake District, assisting with survey reports, project management and strategic advice on a wide variety of property and land related matters. We regularly work in the main towns of the Lake District including Keswick, Grasmere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston and Kendal, as well as smaller areas and villages.

Some of the areas of our work in which we most frequently advice clients in the Lake District are as follows:

Typically, the types of advice we frequently offer clients in relation to property in the Lake District include:

  • Commercial property surveys
  • Dilapidations advice
  • Pre-acquisition surveys
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Party Wall Surveying
  • Project management

Advice for schools / academies

Lea Hough have been working within the education sector for a number of years and have established a strong reputation for acting as School Building Consultants to schools throughout the North West of England. In particular, we are frequently appointed by academy schools, free schools, small Multi Academy Trusts and sixth form colleges to assist in the preparation and submission of CIF bids. Outside of this, we can advise schools on all other sources of funding, including SCA, DFC, SALIX, SEEF andUrgent Capital Support.

We act as consultant to schools in Carlisle CE Diocese towns such as Langdale, Grasmere and Keswick.

Once we have been initially appointed to help with a bid application, schools often go on to become long-standing clients with whom we work closely to help maintain a school’s buildings and estate.

Advice for land owners

The nature of the Lake District and its countryside means that many of the private clients we work with in the area are located more rurally. Lea Hough has a Land and Development team whose primary role is to work with clients in relation to the sale, acquisition or development of land.  Our expert team can advise clients in relation to development land in the Lake District, working closely with them throughout every stage of the process to achieve the optimum results.

“We had a Schedule of Condition carried out on a Commercial Property. From vacant possession to our proposed completion date we were really tight on time. Gary managed to carry out the inspection and write a very thorough report in the time needed to ensure we hit our completion date. The price of the report was also extremely competitive. I would recommend Lea Hough to anyone looking for a Professional Surveyors with excellent service & communication at a competitive price.”
