Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors is a leading property and construction consultancy in Lancashire. We are a multi-discipline independent firm with a team of over twenty staff. Our core disciplines include Building Surveying, Valuation Surveying, Planning and Land Development, Architectural Design and Project Management.
Our experienced Building Surveying team provide the full range of Building Surveying services across all types of property.
We cover a diverse spread of work for a range of fabulous clients from commercial property investors/landlords/tenants, rural estates, new-build developers, housing associations, dioceses and private individuals. As well as this, we have a specialism in the education sector and we have a large client base of schools, academies and colleges.
As part of our continued growth, we require an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to strengthen and develop our Building Surveying department.
Applicants should ideally be MRICS Chartered Building Surveyors, or experienced Building Surveyors working towards their APC assessment with the RICS.
The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work on a varied workload including: designs, specifications, tendering, project management/contract administration, commercial building survey reports, Schedules of Dilapidations, dilapidations negotiations, Party Wall surveying, heritage projects/listed buildings, planned maintenance programmes, Schedules of Condition, Building Survey Reports, CDM Principal Designer role, Monitoring Surveyor for new-build development projects, etc.

We are seeking high calibre candidates with the following qualities: strong work ethic, ability to work off own initiative, good communication skills and a high standard of written English. Local knowledge of the Lancashire/Cumbria/North West region would also be advantageous.
As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for developing and mentoring graduate building surveyors through the RICS’s APC process. We have an RICS approved Structured Training Plan and we provide APC support to our graduate staff.
This is a full time, permanent position based at our Blackburn office, but with flexibility to work from home. Salary negotiable dependent upon experience.
