We have a great career opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor/ School Building Consultant, preferably with experience of working on schools and educational buildings, to join our growing Educational Building Consultancy team.
The Role
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Building Surveyor/School Building Consultant, with experience in school or project work, to strengthen and develop our Educational Building Consultancy team.
The role may particularly appeal to a Building Surveyor who already has experience in the role of School Building Consultant, or who would like to focus on school clients and developing school estates.
Applicants should be Building Surveyors with experience but need not be Chartered/MRICS qualified.
The successful applicant will enjoy a varied workload, in the role of School Buildings Advisor to schools, academies, multi-academy trusts, sixth-form colleges, and Dioceses.
The position includes design and specification of project work, tendering, contract administration, CDM Principal Designer role, Planning Applications, Building Regulations, etc.
There will also be opportunity to be involved with condition survey reports, planned maintenance programmes, development planning, space planning, RAAC surveys, etc.
Additionally, there will be the role of identifying funding opportunities, preparing funding applications to DFE and Dioceses, on behalf of schools and academies, to secure funding for much needed projects.
Knowledge of funding sources such as CIF, SCA and Post-16 funds and application process requirements would be advantageous. As would knowledge of school building standards such as Building Bulletins, CIF Portal, funding approval process, etc.
