Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors recently oversaw the successful completion of a full refurbishment and internal remodelling of the kitchen facilities at Chatburn C of E Primary School, near Clitheroe, in the Ribble Valley.
The project involved upgrading the school’s previous domestic-style kitchen to a purpose-built commercial facility, designed to meet current hygiene standards and support the school’s catering provision for years to come.
Key elements of the works included:
- Installation of new commercial kitchen equipment and ventilation systems
- Full electrical rewire and upgraded wiring
- Replacement of internal doors, external doors and windows
- Application of hygienic wall cladding and non-slip flooring
- Installation of suspended ceilings with integrated LED lighting
- Fitting of an interfaced fire-rated roller shutter to the servery
The works were completed on time and under budget, with the kitchen handed over in readiness for the start of the new academic year.
B&G Sears acted as Main Contractor, with CKS Ltd responsible for the kitchen equipment installation.
The result is a modern, fully compliant kitchen facility that provides a safe, efficient and hygienic environment for food preparation. The finished kitchen provides a significant improvement in the school’s catering provision.
