Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors are pleased to announce the commencement of works at Rhyddings High School in Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, with the project mobilising on site last week.
This project involves the comprehensive refurbishment and remodelling of an existing food technology classroom, with the aim of creating a modern, efficient, and engaging teaching environment. The scheme includes the removal of outdated fixtures and fittings, followed by the installation of new bespoke fitted furniture and specialist teaching equipment designed to support contemporary learning requirements.
Significant upgrades to the internal finishes are also being undertaken, including the installation of new durable flooring, hygienic and hard-wearing wall finishes, and full redecoration throughout.
Mechanical and electrical works form a key element of the project, incorporating improved lighting, power provision, and ventilation systems to ensure the space is safe, compliant and energy efficient.
The refurbished classroom will also feature modern, energy-efficient cooking appliances. These upgrades will not only enhance the functionality of the space but also contribute to reduced energy consumption, aligning with broader sustainability objectives while providing students with access to industry-standard facilities.
In addition to the classroom improvements, the project also includes the full refurbishment of the boys’ WC facilities. The existing amenities will be stripped out and replaced with new sanitaryware, contemporary cubicles, upgraded flooring and refreshed wall finishes. Complete redecoration will ensure the facilities are modern, robust and suitable for long-term use within a busy school environment.
Careful consideration has been given to phasing and programme management to minimise disruption to the school’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that works are delivered efficiently and safely.
