Work has commenced on the construction of a housing development in Blackburn following the successful sale of land as overseen by Lea Hough’s Land and Development team.
The development by MrDermott Homes, named ‘Highgate, Blackburn’, is located off Ramsgreave Drive, near Blackburn Rugby Club.
Following planning consent and the start of the construction of 63 new homes, the development is now being marketed by McDermott Homes, with a launch date of summer 2021. Homes on the development range from 3 to 5 bedrooms and are all detached.
Lea Hough first began working with the landowners in 2014 where the 9.14 acre site was identified as having potential for development. Upon being appointed, our team began to advise on planning and technical issues, also appointing and overseeing a team of specialist consultants on a feasibility study for the site.
Following this, discussions and consultation with Blackburn with Darwen Council began through the Local Plan review process. With our involvement, allocation of site the for development was secured and we were instrumental in the preparation of the Blackburn North Masterplan.
The fantastic location of this site with its convenient transport links and easy access to the surrounding countryside made it a strong proposition and Lea Hough’s team were able to guide the landowners through the marketing and negotiation process to ultimately achieve an excellent sale value.
