Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors has secured a contract to provide building surveying services to the Duchy of Lancaster. The contract, which runs until March 2020, covers the four estates within the Lancashire region which comprise livestock-based farms as well as over 50 houses and cottages.
In being awarded the contract, Lea Hough will be responsible for project managing any building works the Duchy undertakes – such as refurbishments of buildings and barn conversions. The contract also involves planned preventative maintenance within the Duchy’s estates – ensuring properties are both fit for purpose and kept in a good standard of repair, ensuring they will last for many years to come.
Lea Hough is no stranger to working with Duchy of Lancaster, having previously worked on a project basis for refurbishment projects and planned maintenance works across a number of properties on their rural estates.
Paul Dignan, Partner at Lea Hough, said:
“This is obviously a highly prestigious contract and one that we are delighted to have been awarded. The Duchy’s properties by their nature require a high level of professional expertise, often involving refurbishment work to period properties and Listed Buildings, and required to fall within a particular set of guidelines. This sort of work is particularly well-suited to us, with our team having the necessary skill and experience to bring to such projects.
“With a number of large refurbishment projects already in the planning phase, along with several smaller yet equally important planned maintenance projects required over the coming months, it is set to be a busy time for our team. However, having worked across the Duchy of Lancaster sites previously, we are very well placed to be able to deliver the works.”
