Background
Mat began his career at Lea Hough in 2018 and quickly established himself as a valuable member of the team. His passion for architecture and construction was evident from the start, and in just a few short years, he has gained extensive experience working on a wide range of projects.
Recent Project Highlight
One of Mat’s notable achievements is overseeing the completion of the full refurbishment of the Brooklands Building at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School. This project involved transforming a former Care Home into a modern teaching block for the school.
The Brooklands Building project presented unique challenges, but Mat and his team rose to the occasion and delivered an exceptional result – on time and within budget. The refurbished building now serves as a valuable resource for the students and teachers, enhancing their learning environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As an Associate Partner at Lea Hough, Mat’s main focus lies in project work for schools, academies, and dioceses. He also performs commercial property project work and prepares Land Registration Plans, ensuring that all aspects of each assignment are meticulously planned and executed.
Favourite Building
Mat enjoys visiting a wide range of buildings and structures. His favourites are traditional buildings within the Lake District – an area where he frequently works. He appreciates the craftsmanship of these buildings, which incorporate locally sourced stone and slate.
Areas of Focus
Mat is currently concentrating on building up work for Lea Hough in and around Greater Manchester.
When he’s not busy at work, Mat enjoys spending his free time playing 5-a-side football. He also tries to squeeze in some golf outings, although he admits he’s still working on his swing!
