Decarbonisation Funding Schemes
With the increasing focus on sustainability and environmental issues, the previous government rolled out a number of rounds of decarbonisation funding. These schemes provided financial support to schools looking to reduce their carbon footprint and invest in energy-efficient technologies.
We have assisted in securing funding for projects including LED lighting schemes, boiler replacements and window replacements.
Urgent Capital Support Funding (UCS)
Urgent Capital Support Funding (UCS) is available to academy schools, multi-academy trusts and sixth form colleges where essential works are required for ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors can help schools identify and evidence the need for funding to cover emergency capital repairs.
Private funding
Some schools are able to pool funding from fundraising, fees or private donors, therefore reducing the need to rely on government grants. By reaching out to potential donors, schools can explore various funding opportunities and gain additional support for their projects.
New build private education facilities
Lea Hough have advised a number of local private nurseries, assisting with design, build and project management of new, purpose built buildings.
Other government funding
There are sometimes other funding sources available that are designed to deal with a specific need. For example, the Post-16 Capacity Fund was available for colleges that could demonstrate expansion requirements due to oversubscription. Lea Hough assisted Rochdale College in securing funding for a six storey expansion project.
