This month has seen Lea Hough deliver the successful completion of another commercial new-build project! Lea Hough has been acting as Employer’s Agent on an industrial unit at Pendle Court, Nelson which has been purpose-built for Sugden Ltd – with Practical Completion issued in early June.
Sugden, a bakery equipment engineering firm, had outgrown its current factory unit in Barrowford but couldn’t find suitable premises available. As such, they commissioned the build of a brand new factory at Pendle Court.
The new factory stands at a total of 35,000 sq foot and has a two-storey office alongside its factory floorspace.
Our role as Employer’s Agent has involved overseeing the contract between the developer and the appointed contractor.
The project was finished: a) on time, b) on budget, c) to a good standard and most importantly, the team at Sugden Ltd are delighted with it.
The next stage is for a full internal fit out to be completed. Lea Hough are continuing to work alongside the client during this phase, project managing the office fit out.
