When the CIF Outcome 2023-24 was released, the DFE stated:
There were 4,547 academies, sixth-form colleges and voluntary-aided schools eligible to apply to CIF 2023 to 2024, of which 2,076 applied for 3,061 projects.
According to these statistics, almost 2,500 academies (over half) did not apply for one bid, let alone two.
There are many reasons why academy schools may not choose to submit bids. Perhaps schools are not aware that the funding is open to them, or do not know if they have any eligible projects.
- Are you daunted by the process, and unsure what to do?
- Did you attempt to submit a bid yourselves, without a consultant?
- Have you never worked with a consultant previously?
- Do you know what you should bid for?
- If you are new to it, are you unsure how the CIF Funding system works?
Although the process of submitting a CIF bid is time-consuming, there is little doubt that it is one of the best sources of funding open to academy schools to invest in their buildings that is currently available. By not submitting any bids, you are missing out on the opportunity to obtain major funding and improve your schools.
We understand that the CIF process can be daunting, especially for those who are new to this area. That is why we are here to help. Our specialist team offer a no-obligation site visit to assess and identify any projects that may be suitable for CIF funding. If you have a project in mind, we can provide a professional and unbiased view and give an honest assessment of your chances of success.
Once our services have been engaged (at no upfront cost to the school), we can manage the entire bid process – from compiling and preparing the application through to making the submission.
We have a team of Chartered Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors who are experienced in the specialised field of CIF bids. Our team can help you with bid writing, costings, strategy and guidance. We will ensure that your bid is presented in the best possible light to the DfE to maximise your chances of success.
We have extensive experience in the Academy sector and have submitted numerous CIF bids over the past few years. We have had an impressive success rate with CIF bids and are familiar with the DfE application process.
At Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors, we are passionate about helping Academies to secure the funding they need to improve their school buildings.
