The academy was built in 1961 and the majority of the toilet facilities dated back to the construction date. The toilets had little refurbishment over the intervening years, and some had reached the state that they were no longer fit for purpose and had been taken out of action. Complete refurbishment of the dilapidated toilet facilities brought them up to modern standards. Maintenance bills and energy costs have been reduced and the new facilities have further enhanced the school’s appearance.
All works were funded via the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) with Lea Hough having prepared the CIF funding application (on a no-charge basis) on the academy’s behalf, prepared all specifications, designs, drawings, tendered the works to achieve competitive tender prices and carried out full project-management through to overall completion.
