The Valuation team at Lea Hough have undertaken a number of valuations at schools across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria over recent months.
The recent run of valuations has seen us instructed to visit, evaluate and report on several schools situated across the north of England for accounting purposes as the schools gain academy status.
The Valuation service provided by Lea Hough’s specialist Valuation team involves a visit to the school site by one of our Chartered Valuation Surveyors. During the visit, a full site inspection takes place – which includes assessing both the school’s land and buildings. During our investigations, we record a site layout, building floor areas, building types, age, life expectancy and condition. Any planning applications, land values, building types, replacement costs and tenure details will also be taken into account, before a full Valuation Report is produced.
The Valuation Reports we provide for schools meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality. This is of particular importance for Academy Schools, who must provide accurate information for accounting/auditing purposes.
Schools are often very different in nature to other types of property and as such, the valuation of this type of asset is considered to be of a specialist nature. The team at Lea Hough has extensive experience of valuing school properties, grounds and their wider estates and we are able to undertake this type of instruction for any number of reasons. These can include for annual accounting purposes, for insurance purposes or if a school is to become an academy or part of a Multi academy Trust.
