Lea Hough has helped a number of schools across Lancashire and Cumbria to secure SCA funding from the Dioceses for a series of replacement and improvement projects.
The schools to benefit are those in the Carlisle CE Diocese and Blackburn CE Diocese. Projects that have been granted funding include replacement of boilers, heating distribution, a classroom extension, new windows, toilet refurbishment, safeguarding improvements and a flat roof replacement.
In total, Lea Hough has helped eleven C of E primary schools to obtain hundreds of thousands of pounds for the various works; a highly successful outcome in what is always an extremely competitive funding round.
Lea Hough’s role in obtaining the funding included assessing the schools’ needs; preparing reports and compiling the evidence to then prepare and submit bids to the relevant Dioceses for their allocation of SCA funding.
With their projects now approved for funding, the schools in question will also benefit from a full project management service from Lea Hough’s team.
Lea Hough’s education sector team of School Building Consultants are highly successful in securing investment due to our extensive experience in the funding field in the educational sector.
With school buildings requiring an ongoing programme of planned maintenance and repair, and an ever-present pressure on budgets, working alongside a School Building Consultant can often prove beneficial. Lea Hough’s experienced team help to ensure that the available resources, including SCA funding, are maximised whilst meeting the high standards of work and various compliance matters required.
As part of our work with voluntary aided schools, Lea Hough are retained by several Diocese schools throughout the year to visit the school and provide general advice on all maintenance, repair and building work matters. We can also be consulted on a standalone basis to project mange specific schemes of work, or help with funding applications as and when streams become available.
