Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors has secured thousands of pounds of funding for schools in Lancashire via the School Condition Allocation (SCA) funding. The funds will allow a series of vital projects to be undertaken at local schools during the forthcoming months.

The SCA funding scheme is administered by the Department for Education (DfE) and is aimed at improving the condition of school buildings in England. By securing this funding, we are able to help schools to ensure the safety, comfort, and facilities of local schools.

The projects that will be undertaken this summer under SCA funding include:

Fire Safety Improvements:

– Upgrading fire alarm systems and sprinkler systems in school buildings to enhance fire safety measures.

Toilet Refurbishments:

– Refurbishing outdated and dilapidated toilets to bring them up to modern standards.

– Improving accessibility by installing disabled-accessible toilets.

– Installing new toilets and plumbing fixtures to ensure durability and hygiene.

Electrical Works:

– Upgrading the electrical systems in school buildings to current regulations.

– Installing energy-efficient lighting to reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills.

Heating System Upgrades:

– Installing modern and efficient heating systems to provide more comfortable learning environments.

– Replacing old and inefficient heating units to improve heating efficiency and reduce costs.

Lea Hough’s School Building Consultants will be project managing works at schools across Lancashire during the school summer holidays. This will ensure that the learning environment remains uninterrupted during the academic year.

Lea Hough’s role in obtaining SCA funding included an assessment of the schools’ needs, followed by the preparation of several reports to evidence the work required.  Our role also extends to compiling and submitting bids to the relevant Dioceses for their allocation of SCA funding. By securing investment for our school clients, we are not only enhancing the safety of the buildings but also creating a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for students.

Lea Hough’s School Building Consultants are highly successful in securing investment via the SCA due to our extensive experience in the funding field in the educational sector.
