A development site extending to almost 50 acres, which was owned by Blackburn with Darwen Council and a consortium of private landowners, the majority of whom were represented by Lea Hough, has been sold to Vistry Partnerships. This housing development site will showcase Vistry’s Bellway and Linden brands on a development of 477 houses, which will include a wide spectrum of private housing, together with a range of affordable units and some 85 houses in a Private Rented scheme.
Having identified the potential of the site some years ago, Lea Hough worked with others to procure the necessary specialist reports to facilitate an application for Outline Planning Permission. Following the grant of Outline Planning Approval, we fully marketed the opportunity and eventually selected Vistry as the preferred developer.
Following the grant of Reserve Matters Consent, the deal was concluded immediately before Christmas and preparatory works will be starting on site in the early future.
Successfully dealing with consortium-owned sites of this type is complicated and necessitates focused and dedicated hard work to ensure that the outcome is beneficial to all parties involved.
Lea Hough has a long and enviable track record in this regard and we are proud that our efforts in this case have culminated in such a great result.
