Our planning and development team has recently been successful in obtaining consent for the construction of a new-build industrial unit near Wigan.
The new-build unit will have a total square footage of 7,350 (685m2) and provide a mixed use of warehouse/storage space, along with office, meeting/training room, and associated ancillary accommodation, together with external service yard, to be located at Ashton In Makerfield.
The unit is designed as a purpose-built unit to facilitate the expansion of a local roofing contractor, who is a client of Lea Hough.
Lea Hough acted on behalf of the client to undertake site feasibility, before drawing up detailed design proposals, including floor plans, elevations, existing and proposed site plans etc., and associated planning statements to support the application. Lea Hough also co-ordinated specialist third party consultants / reports including preliminary ground risk assessments, and flood risk assessments as the site was located within a locally designated critical drainage area.
The planning application and the design drawings were all dealt with by Graham Margerison at Lea Hough.
With approvals now in place, the client intends to obtain Building Regulations approval and proceed with the construction in the near future, and Lea Hough will continue to assist the client with the project management of the construction project.
Lea Hough’s planning and development team have experience in dealing with all of the local councils regarding obtaining planning consent and are therefore well-placed to put forward an application on behalf of either a company or a residential property owner.
