We’re delighted to share the news that plans have been approved for a brand-new nursery building at Croft Primary School, part of the One Community Trust in Warrington. This exciting project represents a significant investment in early years education in the Croft area of Warrington, addressing much-needed demand for nursery places as the local community continues to grow.
With a number of new housing developments underway nearby, the need for expanded nursery provision has become increasingly pressing. The existing nursery currently operates within the main school building, where space is limited. The new nursery will provide a purpose-built facility that is tailored to the needs of younger children and their families.
The new single-storey detached nursery block will feature a range of dedicated spaces designed to support learning and play, including:
- A Pre-School Room and Toddler Room
- Baby Room and Pre-Toddler Room
- Secure entrance, toilets, and kitchen facilities
- Additional ancillary spaces to support staff and operations
Externally, the project will include outdoor play areas and an enlarged car park, ensuring the facility is both safe and accessible for parents and children alike.
Our Role
Lea Hough has supported Croft Primary School and the One Community Trust throughout the process, providing end-to-end professional services as Lead Consultant. Our involvement has included:
- Developing initial feasibility ideas
- Preparing budget cost estimates
- Assisting with funding applications from multiple sources
- Managing the Planning Application process
- Producing detailed design drawings and specifications
- Managing the tendering process with contractors
- Acting as Contract Administrator once construction begins
- Undertaking the roles of CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Designer
We are proud to have helped the school secure the funding required to bring this project to life.
Construction is scheduled to commence on site in Spring 2026, and once complete, the new nursery will provide modern, high-quality facilities that will greatly enhance early years provision in the community.
