A development site in Longton has reached the next stage in preparation for new homes as a detailed planning application has been submitted to the local authority. Lea Hough has been representing the landowner in regards to the land, which lies to the east of Reynard Close, Longton. Having exchanged contracts in November with the selected housing developer, Story Homes, planning permission is now being sought for 34 high quality new houses.
The site had previously been allocated for housing in the South Ribble Local Plan, under the representation of Lea Hough’s Land and Development team.
The proposed scheme put forward by Story Homes includes a range of one to five-bedroom family homes, including a selection of affordable homes. These will comprise a majority of detached homes, along with some mews style houses and one bedroomed apartments. The site plan also includes an area of open public space towards its south boundary.
The Carlisle based developer has a reputation for building quality homes using long-lasting materials and has numerous developments across Cumbria and the wider North West.
A decision is expected from South Ribble Borough Council in summer/autumn 2023.
