Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors has taken on a new recruit to assist with a growing workload after a bumper summer.
James Leech joins us as a Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer and will provide a wide range of survey and valuation work to both residential and commercial clients. James has a particularly strong knowledge of the North Lancashire property market, having worked in Lancaster for a number of years and will help the firm build on its presence in the area.
James is working towards becoming an MRICS Chartered Valuation Surveyor and is following Lea Hough’s structured training programme that is approved by the RICS.
The recruitment come following what has been a particularly busy quarter. During the period June to August, we have seen a 20% increase in surveys and valuations compared to the same period in 2016. Furthermore, Lea Hough has also recently been appointed to the panel of Valuers for Connells Group.
In addition to an increase in demand for residential work, we have also received new instructions across our commercial services – being involved with several big projects including large-scale repair projects for several Academy schools, a building surveying commission for the Knowsley Estate, and obtaining planning permission for 235 houses in Ulverston for Rowland Homes.
Paul Dignan, Partner, commented:
“Despite the election and ongoing Brexit negotiations influencing the property market, we’ve noticed a real uplift in instructions since this time year.
“Through taking on James, we will be able to better service clients across all of our work areas. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team”.
