Recently our firm has embraced several technological advancements; incorporating digital tech into the way we undertake surveys and complete reports – all with the benefit of improving our service to clients!
Here are some of the ways we have upgraded our technology…
After a successful trial, some of our Chartered Surveyors are now using Microsoft Surface Pro’s/Tablets during inspections for RICS Homebuyer Reports and Mortgage Valuations. Photographs that are taken during surveys are being automatically uploaded to reports; and these are largely complied as our Surveyors go. This streamlines the process of putting reports together, allowing us to complete reports quicker and get these out to clients.
Not all of our surveys can be completed using tablets; due to their more in-depth nature, Building Survey Reports require a more bespoke approach. However, the days of taking notes in a pad of paper to later be typed up are long gone! Our Surveyors all have an app installed on their phones that allows them to dictate notes during a property inspection. When the survey has been completed, the dictated notes are sent to our admin team to be typed up and then reviewed and completed by the Surveyor.
Our Surveyors also have access to long pole cameras – which allow us to gain improved photographic evidence to include in our reports. These are often particularly useful during commercial building surveys and reports.
Other upgrades to our processes that involve the use of tech include cloud based document storage for on the go working, laser based measurement devices and access to online mapping databases.
Moving with the times allows us to produce professional work in a more streamlined way; reducing the margin for error and improving our response time for clients.
