The ESFA has now provided a further update, to confirm that the outcomes of Condition Improvement Fund 2020/21 have been delayed further due to the Covid-19 situation but that the outcomes will be announced next month, June 2020. This has been confirmed via the CIF Portal.
In June, the ESFA will advise of the CIF applications that have been granted funding for building maintenance, repair and expansion projects.
The annual announcement to confirm the approved projects that have been awarded funding is usually made in early April each year, so there has been a delay this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
In the latest update, the ESFA have stated “We appreciate that this is a little later in the year than our usual announcement date, but we will work with successful applicants to get projects underway as quickly as possible once the announcement has been made.”
Despite the delay, the positive news that the CIF Funded projects will go ahead this year is welcomed by Academies and Sixth Form Colleges.
Academy schools can now look forward to the announcement in coming weeks and look to implement their capital projects that are awarded funding.
