Schools building projects

As schools across the North West break for the summer holidays, the School Building Consultancy team at Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors are entering one of their busiest periods of the year. Following another successful round of Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bids, the team has embarked in project managing a wide range of improvement and refurbishment projects across the North West.

The summer period presents a crucial opportunity for schools to carry out these improvements with minimal disruption to teaching and learning. The team will be managing several major projects, ensuring each is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Schools building projects

The projects that are underway span a broad geographical area, covering Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and parts of Cumbria.

The projects include:

  • Electrical rewiring
  • Roof repairs and replacements
  • Curtain walling, window and door replacements
  • Heating system upgrades
  • Extensions and expansion projects
  • Site security and safeguarding schemes

These upgrades are designed to ensure buildings are compliant with current regulations, reduce energy consumption, and provide safer, more effective learning environments for both pupils and staff.

All of the projects are being carefully managed by Lea Hough’s dedicated School Building Consultancy team, who oversee every aspect from contractor procurement and health and safety compliance through to reporting, site supervision, and final handover.

Michael Harrison, Partner and Head of the School Building Consultancy team at Lea Hough, commented:
“Securing CIF funding is a significant milestone, but our real focus is on ensuring the successful delivery of these projects. We’re proud to be supporting schools right across the North West again this summer, helping them to maintain and enhance the quality of their buildings.”
