As an Apprentice Architectural Technician, Jacob’s role involves preparing drawings in relation to the building and construction projects that are project-managed by Lea Hough.
Jacob also undertakes site visits, measured surveys and inspections of existing buildings to identify all construction details.
Jacob is following an Apprenticeship Agreement via a partnership between Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors and Preston’s College.
He is continually gaining experience by working in an office alongside experienced Chartered Building Surveyors.

Area of expertise:
Jacob’s specialism is preparing all types of construction drawings using the AutoCAD drawing package. This may be floor plan drawings, elevations, sections, site plans; along with preparing design proposal drawings for extensions, refurbishments and new-build projects.
He also provides assistance with Planning Applications and Building Regulation applications.
Jacob joined Lea Hough in summer 2019 as an Apprentice Architectural Technician.
He was recruited after completing his first year of his two-year BTEC course in Professional Construction at Preston’s College.
Jacob continues to study at the college on a day-release basis, where he is working towards his BTEC Level 3 and NVQ.
Beyond that, Jacob hopes to continue his studies and undertake a HNC on a day-release basis, eventually becoming a fully qualified Architectural Technician.
When not in work:
Jacob regularly socialises with his friends and spends lots of his time with his family. He enjoys to get out mountain biking and walking at weekends. He also likes to draw and animate, as well as watch films and listen to music.
