Recent Project Highlight
James is lucky to cover a wide variety of work and enjoys valuations on more challenging or unusual properties the most. One of James’ notable recent projects involved valuing a former school building dating back to the 16th century. The client was considering future redevelopment options and required advice on the current market value prior to a potential sale.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
James’ role at Lea Hough focuses on Valuations, where he leads the firm’s commercial property valuation services. He deals with a vast array of property types, including industrial, office, and retail. His work encompasses lending valuations for banks, pre-purchase valuations for businesses of all sizes looking to acquire property, valuations for tax purposes, and he also oversees our asset valuation instructions for local authorities.
Favourite Building
James’ favourite building is Astley Hall in Chorley. This historic building was valued for Chorley Borough Council as part of an annual valuation of all their property assets. The intricate architectural features, historical relevance, and the rich stories associated with the building left a lasting impression on him.
Areas of Focus
James covers a wide geographical area but hails from Lancaster / Morecambe, and now lives in Garstang.
When he’s not in work…
James enjoys fell walking with his young son. As a self-proclaimed ‘history geek’, he likes a pint in a local pub when he gets the chance!
