Lea Hough carry out a professional monitoring role for large construction projects. We undertake the role of independent Employer’s Agent to provide advice and to protect the client’s interests during the whole of the development, from inception to completion – we are typically appointed to represent lenders in relation to new-build schemes, professional input is required to monitor a project.

Lea Hough’s building surveying team will liaise with all parties including developer, principal contractor and designers, prepare any contract documents including an Employer’s Requirements Document for design and build contracts.

We will also monitor construction standards on site and compliance with contract drawings, monitor programme timescales, certify interim payments, deal with problems or variations on site, carry out final Defects Inspections, agree the developer’s final account and generally ensure that the scheme is properly managed.

The team make regular site visits to ensure that the construction works are carried out in accordance with the contract documents and submit regular reports to clients covering progress, variations and budgetary matters.

Lea Hough’s role as an Employer’s Agent has is typically an independent role, not associated with the development team and we will give peace of mind to our client. Our clients include lenders, banks, investment funds, private investors, prospective occupiers and pension funds.
